Keep Watch

Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” – Matthew 26:38

My heart aches.
My eyes fill with tears.
My hands want to do something.
Anything.

How can I help?
How can I pray?

How can I just sit here when mothers are without their daughters? When husbands are without their wives? When children are without their grandparents? All of a sudden. In a flash.

I will keep watch.
I will keep watch and pray.
I will reach out.
I will help how and when I am able.
I will love my family.
I will serve my community.
I will pray.
I will keep watch.

Keep watch for those grieving.
Keep watch for Christ’s return.
Keep watch.

Jesus is the light. He is the bright spot in a dark world.
Because of His grace and mercy we are able to cope.
Because of His love and forgiveness we are able to grieve and find a shred of strength to go on. Changed. Yet not without hope.

So, while I can’t be there in person to help.

I will pray.
I will keep watch.

Join me.
